ADHD Assessment
A comprehensive evaluation conducted to determine whether a child meets the diagnostic criteria for ADHD.
The assessment process is designed to be comprehensive, considering multiple domains of functioning. It aims to rule out other possible explanations for the observed behaviors and determine whether the child meets the criteria for ADHD.

An ADHD assessment usually includes consultation and a standardised interview with parents, a cognitive assessment with the child or adolescent, educational assessment where required, an observation session with the child at school if possible, consultation with the school, and a standardised behavioural assessment (Connors) to be conducted with parents and relevent school staff.

The findings are used to inform the diagnosis and support considerations of medication with a paediatrician, and recommendations for intervention and support are developed.
